It seems a little like a sickness to not be able to rest until I understand how something should be, until it feels just right, but not care about the actual execution.  This is the bathroom and there was a yellow and gray ikat that had to go on sale before I could even consider purchasing it but I thought about the shower curtain I would sew for weeks beforehand and then there’s the walls that have miraculously not caved from the weight of the paint I’ve tried and sanded and the colors and patterns but now that it’s just right, the idea that is, I can ignore the one blue stripe of painters tape marking the finish line but I’ve moved on to understanding the colors in the boys’ room and the placement of furniture and it’s times like these that I can understand why he’s afraid.
