Kateoplis posted beautiful photos of starlings. It would be nice at times to exist in such uniformity with your species, not as a function of pressure but due to simple, shared inclinations. I suppose viewed from sufficient distance we already do, but I lack such perspective.
I am often struck by how similar we are when reading people’s thoughts or even walking down the street.  So much of our experience is the opposite of unique.  I wish that there was meaning there that resonated with me.  I wish that the things I knew with my head I could also know with my heart (how could that ugly, bloody, pounding muscle be so separate and distinct from the rest of my being?)
This isn’t what I intended to write.
There aren’t any leaves on the trees and I have a free and unobstructed view of the sky and the swirling birds.  The other day a storm blew in and I witnessed the largest group of birds ascend on the side of a mountain.  It was breathtaking.  I wanted a picture.  This one will have to do.
